This award is the John E. O'Bryant Scholarship, administered by the Lee's Summit Baseball Association (LSBA). The scholarship is presented in memory of John E. O'Bryant, who gave so much of his knowledge, time, and effort in support of the youth of our community through his involvement as a manager, coach, grounds keeper, scheduler, and officer of the association. DESCRIPTION: An annual amount of $1,000; either provided to the recipient on receipt of paid admissions statement or made payable directly to the institution.

ELIGIBILITY:

1. Graduating senior planning to attend a post secondary education institution.
2. Must have participated in at least three (3) league seasons of LSBA.
3. Must have at least a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
4. No relative of a member of the selection committee is eligible.
5. Must complete and submit application by due date to LSBA.

APPLICATION:

1. Complete an application and submit to the High School Guidance office by March 1st.
2. The High School Guidance office will review the application; attach a copy of the applicant's official high school transcript; and forward to the LSBA, P.O. Box 1415, Lee's Summit, Missouri, 64063, by March 15th.
3. The selection committee may interview applicants.

SELECTION:

1. Chosen from eligible applicants by a majority vote of the selection committee.
2. Notification of selection will be made in writing, issued on or about May 1st.
